This commercial isn’t real, neither are society’s standards of beauty. ~ Jesse Rosten, Film Maker
This post is a little out for character for me, in that I don’t usually tend towards sarcasm or parody in my approach to life. But I thought this film was well done. It is promoting awareness of something that I believe is important. Photoshop is a powerful tool for enhancing images and creating amazing photographs. It can also be used as a tool to make people look perfect and plastic. I think it’s important for you to know that virtually all of the supermodels that you see in commercials and on magazine covers have been “fixed up” in photoshop. Their skin has been smoothed, blemishes removed, their clothing has been smoothed and their body shape may have even been changed. When it comes to my own photography, my photoshop philosophy is “just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Or event want to.” That’s why I only use photoshop in moderation. I want my photographs to radiate your personal beauty. I want to show off the beautiful person that you are. The real you. Not an idealized version yourself that’s so digitally perfected that it’s actually a lie. Just remember, even the supermodels don’t look like supermodels.

  • I wish we can raise money to put this on the superbowl
  • If steroids are illegal for athletes, shouldn’t fotoshop be illegal for models?

  • @JesseRosten I really think that you made an amazing job at this commercial… I didn’t mean to spam/insult or something.. I honestly thought that the “Fotoshop” was a mistake. Sorry if you and the other commenters understood me the wrong way!
  • @MissOklahomaPageant my comment was written by innocence. I wasn’t thinking that it was on purpose. Your comment was insulting. You shouldnt call people stupid just because they wrote something that you don’t like.

  • @Dindash123 Now if you would have watched the video, you would have known why Photoshop was written as “Fotoshop” and Adobe as “Adobé”. I just can’t stand stupid people like you….sigh
