We spent a lovely Sunday evening down in Saxapahaw. We popped into the Haw River Ballroom to catch a few minutes of Old Time Pickin’ Sunday (where a bunch of people from the community bring their instruments and just sit down and play together.) Then we wandered up with steps to The Eddy for dinner and to catch a surprise acoustic show from the Spirit Family Reunion. We had the pleasure of running into past and future clients, friends and met friends of friends. By the end of the evening we’d assembled into a table full of friends enjoying things like local draft beer, bacon sliders, fresh fruit tarts and the simple pleasures of grilled cheese sandwiches. It’s like “Cheers” with delicious local food. Here is my view of the festivities with energetic harmony of Spirit Family Reunion playing in the background. The whole pub was full of people tapping their feet to the rhythm. It was infectious and you couldn’t help yourself even if you wanted to. Chef Jeff Barney swept up his little girl and they were dancing around the pub, much to her delight. I’ve been playing around with the video features of my camera. It’s fun to dabble in but I’m happy to leave videography to the video professionals.
