Company Shops Market just released a great little video where they interviewed several of their owners to find our why they are excited about Company Shops Market and what made them want to become owner shareholders. As owners ourselves, one of the ways we have contributed to the effort is by bringing along a camera whenever we attend one of their events. We have created a pretty extensive archive of images that document the history of the co-op for the past 3+ years. It is really fun to see some of those images interlaced in this documentary.
Another thing that is really fun about looking at these old images is that we recognize people in the photographs that we didn’t know at the time we took the them. We see people who attended the same events with us 1, 2, 3 years ago. We didn’t know them then, but they have now become friends through mutual association with Company Shops. In addition to having a local grocery store that focuses on local, organic, and healthy products, the thing we are most excited about is the community and friendships that are welcome byproducts of grassroots efforts like this.
